These pictures are just to prove that our furniture did arrive from New Zealand and that we did manage to make it fit. Just!
Sue is busy writing an essay to complete her last two papers for this year. She has promised to start responding to emails once she has finished.

The Bream Bay/Whangarei Harbour painting is here to remind us of what we have left behind and what we will be returning to.

The latest addition (Sue’s birthday present yesterday) is this montage of Arabic images.
Our bedroom feels very spacious now that we have got rid of the bed settee that we used while waiting for our furniture.
Unfortunately the spare room is a bit more cramped as it doubles as an office space. This is where we are sitting when we are talking on Skype. If you are coming to visit, this is your room. I promise to clear some of the mess before you get here.

The weather is starting to cool down at last. On Thursday night we went to a BBQ in a park. It felt very strange standing around the hot charcoal without a beer in your hand. But a least we could stand around outside. When we arrived at the beginning of August it would have been far too hot to do this, even at night.
Sue’s Birthday
For Sue’s birthday we spent the day lounging around the swimming pool at the golf club with new friend, Manda.

Manda is from the Lake District in England but has a house in Bournemouth. Plans for the future include Manda and Mark coming to New Zealand for January and February to spend time on our launch and us going to Bournemouth for July and August to spend time on their yacht. We need to buy a launch and they need to buy a yacht but apart from these minor details the plan is well advanced!
I went for a workout in the gym while the most exercise Sue and Manda managed was a width of the pool to order gin & tonics from the poolside bar. Again, we would not have been able to sit outside a month ago but the day time temperature has dropped to a refreshing 36° so we are starting to plan outdoor activities.
