Jebel Hafeet is often said to be the highest point in the UAE (1280 m). It is on the outskirts of Al Ain and gives fantastic views of the city. Apparently there is another little known peak somewhere else which is higher.
You can drive almost to the top on a glorious, winding, dual carriage-way to where a huge car park has been bull-dozed out of the rock. Then a short walk gets you to where the photo was taken.
Since we were heading in to Al Ain (about 1 hour 40 from Abu Dhabi) we took the opportunity to catch up with Julia Scott, a team mate of Sue’s from Team Solutions, and Jocelyn Mackay, an ICT adviser friend on Nigel’s. All are doing similar work to us. Coffee at Julia’s villa and then met Jocelyn and her husband at the top Jebel Hafeet before descending a short distance to the Mercure Hotel for drinks.
