Celebrations were a little different. It was a normal working day so here I am at the 6th of August School. The drinks are all non-alcoholic of course.

Someone had realised that New Zealand would be the first to see the New Year so I was given the job of calculating what time it would be midnight in NZ. I did it properly and used my fingers rather than counting in my head but somehow came up with 1pm local time. So several people in New Zealand got ‘Happy New Year’ messages from me at 10pm. Now you know why.

Anyway this is the team saying Happy New Year having done a count down and sung Auld Lang Syne before anyone else in the world.
