Even I knew that a silver wedding anniversary could not slip by without a significant celebration, at least not if there was to be a 26th wedding anniversary.
I booked this weekend back in January and managed to keep a secret until we got to the airport on Thursday. All Sue knew was that she had to pack a bag for the weekend and that I was picking her up early from work.

We had a fabulous weekend. The hotel knew it was our 25th anniversary and had promised a cake. What they had not mentioned was a room upgrade. They put us in the best room at the resort. The Royal Villa complete with its own private swimming pool.
When not drinking champagne in our private pool we went on safari tours, guided walks and snorkelling trips. 60% of the island is a wildlife reserve so at times it felt like you were in Africa with giraffes, cheetahs, gazelles, antelopes and oryx.
