Apparently ‘damm’ roughly translates to ‘hidden’ and after yesterday’s efforts it seemed to be justified. However, Nigel’s early morning photoshoot revealed another entrance to the wadi past walled cave dwellings and down into the most beautiful swimming holes we have seen.

We spent so long in the wadi that we were very late getting to our next stop Jebel Ahkdar. The plan was to camp at the base of the plateau. Unfortunately our gps had some strange ideas on how to get to the camping area (it would have worked if we had been driving a helicopter) and by the time we realized it was dark. So our second nights camping was in the very pleasant Sahab Hotel on the Sayq Plateau.
