Sue has picked up another months work in Al Ain – which may turn into four months.
Once again she has an apartment at The Hilton and so for the next few weekends at least this means we can stay in Al Ain on Thursday night and make an early border crossing into Oman on Friday morning.
We had a sort of test run this weekend except that we had to start in Abu Dhabi and then unload gear at The Hilton as we passed through Al Ain.
Friday nights camp site was only about 15 minutes across the border. It is known as Hanging Gardens because of the all year round vegetation that clings to the spring line at the bottom of a huge escarpment. At this time of year there are even more plants, taking advantage of the cooler weather and occasional rain.

A short walk and then a barbecue on Friday followed by a longer walk up to the Hanging Gardens on Saturday.
