Not quite into the fire. We left 49′ in Abu Dhabi and arrived to a heat wave in Dorset – a very warm 30+ – warm enough for a swim in the sea.

First day included the two rivers walk – the Frome and the Piddle. Clair forgot to mention that we wouldn’t actually see the rivers as the reeds were too high.

Then a day at the beach which really meant a walk from Studland Beach out to Old Harry Rocks. Team photo for the day – Marco, Deborah, Sue, Jonathan, Clair, Nigel and Katie.

An all day party for Deborah’s birthday on Sunday meant that a long walk to work of the excesses was needed.

We settled for Chapman’s Pool to Swanage. Another beautiful section of the Dorset Coast Path. That should have read ‘Another section of the beautiful Dorset Coast Path’ because it’s all beautiful. Only one change to the walking team. Deborah’s youngest daughter, Katie, is replaced by older daughter, Natalie.

15 km was more than enough given that Clair has broken her toe on the Old Harry walk and Nigel fell off the rocks at Winspit.

I didn’t really want to paddle in my undies, but this seemed like the best way to reduce the swelling after falling between rocks on the beach
