A completely exhausting twelve days of Christmas. This was the planned itinerary. We managed most of it despite not meeting a single departure time!

Friday 19 December

Saturday 20 December

Leisure day by swimming pool. Evening BBQ

Emily arrives in time for BBQ

Sunday 21 December

10am Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Tour (entry fee included in your package) or supermarket shopping – your choice

1pm Depart for desert. Overnight camp under authentic desert stars with genuine desert sand. Midnight scorpion hunt optional.

Monday 22 December

Compulsory sand dune climb before breakfast. Coffee in 5* Qasr Al Sarab resort. One or two cultural visits (forts). Return to Abu Dhabi for dinner

Tuesday 23 December

Supermarket shopping for next camping trip or leisure morning at swimming pool – your choice

2pm – 9pm Desert Safari – 4×4 dune bashing, camel riding, #quad biking, horse riding, henna painting, sand boarding, BBQ

Wednesday 24 December

10am depart for Oman

Tour includes stop at 5,000 year old ‘Beehive Tombs’ – entry fee is included in your package

Camp at Wadi Damm. Overnight in tents under authentic Omani stars with genuine Omani rocks -less chance of scorpions. Christmas carol singing optional.

Thursday 25 December

Opening presents under the Xmas tree cancelled

‘Wadi bash’ – spectacular walk around canyon rim before descending into wadi and trekking through one of the prettiest wadis in Oman. Optional swim under waterfall.

Traditional Christmas Dinner cancelled – Camp fire BBQ

Friday 26 December

Walk to abandoned village of As Sab – a fabulous donkey track clinging to the cliff along the edge of Wadi Nakhar.

Return to Abu Dhabi

Saturday 27 December

Volvo Ocean Race Village, Abu Dhabi including Dhow Racing

Sunday 28 December

10.30am depart for Dubai Scenic tour. Shopping in The Dubai Mall Optional viewing from observation deck – Burj Khalifa Dinner Abu Dhabi. Drop off at airport midnight for silly o’clock departure – Daniel, Rebecca, Emily & Chris

Tuesday 30 Airport 7.30am drop off for 10.10am departure – Graeme  

Please note that since this is the deluxe package all meals and drinks, entry fees into all attractions (except Burgh Khalifa), airport pickup, transport to all attractions and camp site fees are all complimentary # 10 minutes quad biking included in your package, additional time can be purchased for 25AED for 10 minutes
