A fabulous week with Nigel’s family on the west coast of Scotland. With us were Eric and Christine, Sue, John and Jamie (and Lily the dog) and David and Kath.

Waterfront chalets at the Holly Tree Hotel, Kentallen were a fabulous base from which to explore the beautiful glens, mountains and lochs of western Scotland.

Evenings in the lodge came with sensational sunsets, fabulous food (Sue’s & John), magical music (David & Jamie) and forgetable jokes (David – do they even have penguins in Ireland?).

Impossible to choose the best sunset photo so you pick. All taken from around the lodge.

The first evening walk started well but ended with an emergency call to David to rescue the walkers from a typical Scottish downpour.

Inchree Falls – Sue & John and Nigel & Sue

Glenuig & Arisaig – everyone, including a photobombing John

Arisaig – sunshine meant ice-cream for everyone that wanted it, including Lily

Glencoe – Nigel & Sue, John, Sue & Jamie. Not quite four seasons in one day, but at least three.

David & Jamie head out in the kayak while Mam, Dad and Kath play on the swing?

Day two in Glencoe – T-shirts all day

A rainy day trip to Oban with a detour to Port Appin on the way home followed by dinner in the hotel.

The whole week passed by too quickly but lots of memories (and a few photos of course).
