So the Nyinabulitwa Country Resort was not quite as it was described on the tin. Fabulous location but ‘decidedly rustic’ turned out to mean damp bedding, non-functioning toilets, rust stained shower water and meals cooked somewhere off-site and brought to the dining area in insulated plastic containers. Worse still, there was no bar!

We stayed one night while Claire made emergency calls to the tour company to get us moved.
To make matters worse, the wet season that had ended two weeks ago, decided to come back while we were chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. This meant the chimps stayed high in the canopy and we got stiff necks trying to see them. We could at least hear them – screeching calls that echoed all around us.

Not sure wether Jonathan is looking miserable because of the rain or the lodge with no bar.
