Our itinerary was completely false. Jacana Lodge was so remote that there was never any chance of an early morning game drive unless we left at about 5 a.m. There was certainly no chance of returning for breakfast, having a leisurely morning and then heading off to the Kazinga Channel. So we were out all day and ended up wishing that we had simply stayed at the lodge and enjoyed its surroundings.

Now we can look at the photos for the day and realise that it wasn’t too bad after all!
