The national holiday for Eid Al Adha has given us some great opportunities for travel.

Last year Eid saw us in Italy – Milan, Lake Como and Venice.

2011 was a return trip to Jordan with Clair and Jonathan and included a visit to Wadi Rum and diving in the Red Sea.

Eid 2010 had been our first visit to Jordan. We saw enough to know that we would want to come back.

Our first Eid Al Adha in 2009 coincided with the National Day holiday and we celebrated with a grand tour of the UAE and our first peek at Oman.

This year, just as in 2012, we have stayed at home. Sue needed to get some work done on her PhD study while I am getting camping gear ready for the winter. We keep thinking that it is nearly cool enough to go but it is really just wishful thinking.

We had dinner outside last night but were very happy to retire to the air conditioned lounge as soon as we had finished.

Maybe a few more weeks yet.
